When I left the bench in 2007, I brought with me the experience and knowledge to provide an uncommon insight to assist in the mediation and arbitration of disputes of all kinds.
- J. D. Williamson
As a lawyer and judge I have extensive experience that will enable me to assist you in managing and resolving your clients disputes. My experience includes disputes in the areas of business, commercial, construction, employment, personal injury, wrongful death, family law, real estate, medical and legal malpractice. I am available as both a neutral mediator or arbitrator to aide you in resolving your client's problems.
As a Judge, I tried hundreds of jury and non-jury cases in all areas of civil, criminal and family law. I served as Presiding Judge for two years before my retirement managing administrative matters and disputes involving the Court, as well as directing the resolution of budgetary and personnel issues that involved the Jackson County Circuit Court.
I was engaged in the general practice of law. My primary field was trial work, where I tried numerous cases in both State and Federal Courts for both plaintiffs and defendants. As a lawyer I served as President of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, President of the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, assisted in establishing a Youth Court in Independence, Missouri and was a founding member and President of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
